10 October, 2021Human Digital Twin (HDT) is a recently defined concept, which characterizes the replication of individual human body in the virtual space while reflecting its physical status both psychologically and physiologically in real time.
Revolutionizing Healthcare with GAI-driven HDT: This survey explores the transformative potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Human Digital Twin (HDT) technology, powered by Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), in the healthcare sector. By creating a high-fidelity digital replica of the human body, HDT can enhance healthcare monitoring and guide treatments in real time. However, the challenge lies in managing scarce, biased, and noisy data. This is where GAI comes in, using advanced AI algorithms to generate and modify valuable data. We delve into the core techniques of GAI-driven HDT, its implementation in IoT-healthcare, and its potential to revolutionize personalized health monitoring, diagnosis, prescription, and rehabilitation. The paper concludes with a look at future research directions in this promising field
Mobile AIGC technology automates information creation at mobile edge networks, benefiting personalized healthcare through HDT applications. This article proposes a system architecture for mobile AIGC-driven HDT, addressing design requirements and challenges. Use cases in surgery planning and personalized medication are presented, along with evidence of effectiveness in a virtual physical therapy teaching platform. Open issues and future directions are discussed.
Digital twin (DT) is a technique that digitally represents physical entities and has gained significant interest. It allows the replication of operations, analysis of conditions, prediction of behavior, and optimization of control. Human digital twin (HDT) extends this concept to represent individual human bodies, encompassing molecular, physiological, emotional, psychological, and lifestyle aspects. HDT shows promise in personalized healthcare (PH), enabling remote monitoring, diagnosis, prescription, surgery, and rehabilitation. However, implementing HDT poses research challenges. This survey focuses on HDT’s networking architecture and key technologies in PH applications, discussing its differences from conventional DTs, outlining its framework and functions, analyzing design requirements and challenges, presenting the networking architecture, and exploring future research directions.
